The San Ramon Valley Islamic Center invites you to join us for our Annual Picnic at Athan Downs Park in San Ramon on Sunday, August 3rd. The picnic will begin at 11am with food served from 1 to 2pm.
Advance reservations are required by July 26th, 2008. Tickets at $7.00 (Ages 6 and up), $5.00 (5 and under).

As we mentioned last week, Jumma prayers in San Ramon have seen a steady increase in attendance over the past few months. Since last week, we have started to strictly enforce capacity limits during Jumma as imposed by the Fire Marshall. This is being done for the safety of all attendees and also to ensure that we are in compliance with the rules of our permit.
In order to ensure that everyone is able to read their Jumma prayers, we have now started to offer a second Jumma Prayer for those who arrive after the Masjid reaches capacity. The second Jumma Prayers will be much shorter in order to accommodate everyone's schedule.
With tomorrow being July 4th holiday, we anticipate an even bigger crowd. We request that people wishing to participate in the first Jumma arrive early and carpool as much as possible in order to reduce the number of parking spots that we use. After the 1st Jumma is completed, we ask for everyone's cooperation in making room for those who will be participating in the second Jumma.
The timings for the 1st Jumma will be as follows:
1:25: Adhan for Dhur
1:30: Khutbah Starts
1:55: Salat Starts
The second Jumma will begin immediately after the first Jumma is complete (~2:05pm) and salat will be approximately 2:15pm
We ask everyone to pray that Allah(ST) allows our center to continue to accommodate the growing community.

Lunches Available after Jumma Starting June 6th

We are pleased to announce that starting June 6th, Cafe Tandoor will be providing lunches after every Jumma. All profits from the lunches will go to the San Ramon Valley Islamic Center.
We encourage everyone to join us every Jumma for lunch.
