SRVIC Islamic School Teacher's Appreciation Day, May 18th
May 14, 2008 at 05:07 PM
Many of you may have been aware that May 6th was National Teacher's Appreciation Day. Taking a page from this day, we are pleased to announce Sunday May 18th as SRVIC Islamic School Teacher's Appreciation Day to recognize the tireless effort and dedication of our teachers. Our Islamic School teachers have been volunteering their time in educating our kids about Islam and Islamic values. As Muslims, we have such tremendous respect for teachers of sacred knowledge.
If you have a child attending SRVIC Islamic school, we encourage you and your child to show their appreciation by bringing flowers and/or a card to Islamic School next Sunday, May 18th. Let's all thank our teachers for their wonderful work and dedication in shaping our next generation. May Allah(ST) protect them and reward them for their efforts.
Volunteers Needed for Annual Letter Carriers Food Drive, Saturday May 10th
May 02, 2008 at 10:49 AM
The San Ramon Valley Islamic Center has been working closely with the Contra Costa County Food Bank for over 6 years now. Each year, one of the activities that we help support is the Annual Letter Carriers' Food Drive. While this food drive is nationwide, we help support the efforts at the San Ramon and Danville Post Offices.
This year, the Letter Carriers Food Drive is on Saturday, May 10th. We need 6-8 volunteers to help with the Food Drive at each Post Office from 2pm to 6pm. Adults and older children (10 years or older) can help. Our responsibility is basically to help unload food from the postal vehicles and load them into the Food Bank trucks.
Its a great opportunity to do your part to help those who are in need and have fun while doing it.
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Brother Aamir Farooq or email
